# Arabic Thermal Rendering v55

## Decision
Arabic thermal output uses server-neutral structured documents and Local Agent rasterization.

The server remains unaware of printer code pages.

## Rendering path
structured-v1 JSON
→ Windows text shaping
→ monochrome bitmap
→ ESC/POS GS v 0 raster
→ Windows RAW spooler or TCP/9100

## Profiles
- thermal_58: 384 dots
- thermal_80: 576 dots
- 203 DPI baseline

## Benefit
Arabic appearance no longer depends on the thermal printer supporting:
- CP864
- CP720
- proprietary Arabic shaping
- bidi firmware behavior

## Hardware validation
v55 provides the `--test-arabic` Agent command.

A real thermal printer should be used before declaring production output verified.

Validate:
- RTL order
- Arabic joining/shaping
- mixed Arabic/numbers
- long line wrapping
- 58/80mm clipping
- density/readability
- feed/cut behavior
